Project Description
ERC conducted a Pre-Demolition Regulated Building Materials Survey of the Old Joslin Power Plant located at 2313 FM 1593 in Point Comfort, Texas 77978. The objective of the survey was to ascertain the general presence, quantity, and location of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs), Lead-Based Paint (LBP), Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), Arsenic in surface soils, Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), Bird Droppings, and universal waste at the site. The results of the survey will assist in the preparation of an abatement scope of work and subsequent abatement of identified ACMs, LBPs, PCBs, CFCs, Bird Droppings, and other potential materials, and universal waste that may be required prior to demolition activities.
The Site includes a three-story brick building slab on grade foundation with a ten-story boiler vent and surrounding property that includes canopies, structures, various tanks, boilers, and condensers. From 1972 to 2012, the Site has been utilized as an industrial natural gas-powered electrical power plant.
